Discover Lake Elmo Park Reserve — My Favorite All-Season Escape
When people explore Lake Elmo real estate, they quickly see this community offers more than just beautiful homes — it’s a lifestyle centered around nature, community, and connection. For me, the heart of that lifestyle is Lake Elmo Park Reserve, a place that’s been part of our family’s story since we moved to the St. Croix Valley in 2010.
A Place for Every Season
When our kids were little, summer weekends often meant packing beach towels and sand toys for a day at the swimming pond. In the fall, we’d trade swimsuits for tents and enjoy family camping weekends. Those memories — campfires, crisp air, and kids running around — are some of my favorites.
In the winter, I love hitting the cross-country ski trails, when I’m not teaching at Wild Mountain. Having the whole ski area lighted makes it easy to sneak in an evening ski, and the heated chalet with bathrooms is a great spot to warm up. Just be aware — timing matters! Stillwater Nordic practices here, and it can get a little hectic.
Fall is my favorite season at the park. The colors are gorgeous, and the trails are perfect for long walks. Last year, a group of eight friends and I spent a Sunday morning hiking 11 miles while training for a half-marathon walk. We got a little turned around from all the chatting, but with the connected trails, it’s easy to pivot and find your way back.
Close to Everything, Yet Peaceful
One of the things I love most about Lake Elmo Park Reserve is its location. It’s right off I-94, so it’s easy for friends from all over the Twin Cities to meet up, yet once you’re on the trails, it feels quiet and peaceful. The mix of prairies, lakes, and woods really shows why the Lake Elmo and Stillwater area is such a great place to live.
Why People Love Living Here
Living near the park means year-round access to one of Washington County’s most beautiful natural areas, without giving up proximity to Stillwater, Woodbury, or St. Paul. Neighborhoods like The Fields of St. Croix, Legacy at North Star, and Wildflower are designed to complement the landscape and lifestyle the park inspires.
As part of the Platinum Real Estate Team, I love helping clients find not just homes, but the lifestyle that comes with them. If you’re thinking about buying or selling in Lake Elmo, I’d love to show you why this area — and its parks — continue to capture hearts year after year.
